Terms of use
These terms set the ground rules for the Backseat beta. By creating an account or joining a league, you agree to use the service fairly and lawfully.
The beta service
Backseat is an independent fantasy esports companion offered on an as-available basis. Features, tournament coverage and scoring corrections may change during beta. We may suspend a feature when data cannot be verified or safe operation cannot be maintained.
Accounts and fair play
- Provide accurate registration details and keep credentials private.
- Do not automate signups, manipulate scoring, abuse invitations or evade limits.
- Do not harass others, impersonate players or publish illegal or infringing content.
- Report suspected account compromise or scoring errors promptly.
We may restrict or close accounts that threaten other users, competition integrity or service availability.
Fantasy points and data corrections
Published scoring rules govern each competition. Live or provisional figures can change when source data is corrected; finalised rounds may be reopened with an audit trail when a material error is confirmed. Fantasy points, prices and achievements have no cash value. Backseat is not a betting or gambling service.
Plans and beta entitlements
The core fantasy game is free and paid checkout is not currently available. We may grant temporary Plus, Commissioner Pro or Creator Studio access to beta testers without charge, and may change or revoke those evaluation grants. A beta entitlement has no cash value and does not represent a purchase or promise that a paid plan will launch.
Ownership and esports marks
You retain rights in content you submit and permit Backseat to display it as needed to operate leagues and share pages. Backseat's original code, branding and presentation remain its property. Team names, player identities, tournament marks and third-party media belong to their respective owners. Backseat is not endorsed by Riot Games.
Availability and liability
Esports schedules, rosters and statistics can be delayed or corrected. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without guarantees of uninterrupted availability or error-free third-party data. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes and contact
Material changes will be dated on this page and, where practical, announced in-product. Continued use after a change means the updated terms apply. Questions can be raised on the contact page. Our privacy notice explains how account information is handled.
