Quick answers, clear squad rules and a scoring lab you can actually play with.

Getting started

What is Backseat?

Backseat is fantasy League of Legends for the people who watch together. Pick real pros, follow the games and compete in a league with friends.

Do I need to pay to play?

No. The core game is free to play. Backseat does not use paid entry, staking or cash betting mechanics.

How do I build a squad?

Choose one starter for each of the five roles, add two substitutes, stay within the credit budget and choose a captain.

Squads and deadlines

When does my squad lock?

Each event publishes its own lock time. Changes saved before it count for that window; later changes wait for the next one.

What do substitutes do?

A substitute can cover a starter who records no appearance, subject to the published role and squad rules for the event.

What happens after elimination?

When a player is out of the event, use the next squad decision to repair the team before the following lock.

Leagues

How do I join a league?

Enter an invite code or open an invite link from the commissioner. Once you have a compatible squad, you can take your place in the table.

What is the difference between Classic and Draft?

Classic lets managers own the same player and compete through their picks. Draft makes each player exclusive within that league.

Can I play with more than one group?

Yes. One event squad can compete in compatible leagues, so you can keep separate scoreboards for separate group chats.
