Know the game. Make the call.

Quick answers, clear squad rules and a scoring lab you can actually play with.

How league play works

Build seven. Join your table. Make the call.

Backseat keeps the rules visible: your squad is legal before lock, your league is clear, and every score can be traced after the games.

01

Choose an event

Every squad is tied to one competition and its published scoring windows.

02

Build your seven

Pick your starting five, two substitutes, captain and vice within the event rules.

03

Join your table

Create a private league or enter an invite to compete with the people you watch with.

04

Follow the call

Matches settle points, standings and the next decision before the next lock.

Your squad

Seven players, one clear shape.

Budget
55 credits for the full squad
Starting five
One each of TOP, JUNGLE, MID, BOT and SUPPORT
Bench
Exactly two substitutes; role-compatible cover applies if a starter records no appearance
Captaincy
Captain and vice are different starters; the captain scores double
Duplicates
Each pro can appear only once in your seven
Tournament balance

Back the best players without stacking the whole field.

Pro-team cap
At an opening international field, pick a maximum of two from one pro team
Region spread
At an opening international field, pick up to three from one region; LCK is capped at two
Stage-aware rules
As teams are eliminated, concentration limits relax so a legal squad remains possible
Finals and domestic play
Region caps disappear for a single-region event and once only three teams remain
Eligibility
Every selected player must be on an entered, still-active tournament team
Classic leagues

Pick your squad. Compete with any group.

Managers can own the same pro. Your event squad can count in compatible private leagues, and the leaderboard decides who called the tournament best.

Draft leagues

Every pro is somebody's call.

Managers draft exclusive players within that league. The same match still settles the score; the difference is who got there first on draft day.

Locks and results

Decisions first, proof after.

Each event publishes its lock. Backseat freezes the relevant squad snapshot, then turns completed games into an explainable points receipt and league table.

The event builder always has the final word. Rules adapt to the competition and stage, and the live legality checklist tells you exactly why a pick is allowed or blocked.
